Ukrainians can expect unstable weather this upcoming weekend, June 13 and 14. An atmospheric front is moving into the country from Western Europe, bringing rain and a cooler air mass. According to the forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UkrGMC), the synoptic situation will be dynamic during these days.
Saturday: thunderstorms and gusts on the Left Bank
On Saturday, June 13, the weather will be characterized by variable cloudiness. However, calm conditions may be disrupted by precipitation. Brief rain is likely in most regions of the country overnight.
Residents of the Left Bank and Crimea should pay special attention. Forecasters do not rule out thunderstorms in these areas. In some locations, more complex phenomena are predicted: hail and wind gusts with speeds of up to 15-20 m/s.
During the day, the wind is expected to be westerly or north-westerly, with speeds of 5-10 m/s.
Sunday: rain across the country
On Sunday, June 14, unstable weather will persist. Brief rain, and locally thunderstorms, are likely in various regions of Ukraine. The wind on this day will blow from the west or south-west, strengthening to 7-12 m/s.
Forecast for Kyiv: cooling followed by warming
The capital will also be affected by adverse weather conditions. On Saturday, June 13, variable cloudiness is expected in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. A slight drop in air temperature is forecasted subsequently.
On Sunday, June 14, the average daytime temperature in Kyiv may drop to +18°C. Rain is also not ruled out on this day.
However, already on Monday, June 15, daytime temperatures will begin to gradually rise. Forecasters predict the following figures:
- June 15: around +19°C;
- June 16: around +21°C;
- June 17: around +22°C.
Average nighttime temperatures during this period will fluctuate in the range of +13°C to +15°C.
