On June 19, Ukraine is expected to see a noticeable improvement in weather conditions. Meteorologists forecast a decrease in precipitation and a rise in air temperatures. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the press service of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (Ukrhydrometcenter).

Meteorological situation

According to data from Ukrhydrometcenter specialists, the weather across the country throughout the day will be determined by a field of slightly elevated pressure. However, the influence of an atmospheric front still persists in the southeastern part of Ukraine. At altitudes above the country's territory, a cool, moist air mass from northern latitudes continues to be present.

Precipitation and wind

Given the current meteorological situation, precipitation is not forecast for most of Ukraine on Friday. Exceptions are the southeastern regions, as well as during the day in most western and northern oblasts, where local brief light showers are likely.

Throughout June 19, the wind will blow from the northwest, while in the south and southeast of the country, it will be from the northeast. Its speed will be around 5–10 m/s.

Temperature regime

Air temperatures, according to Ukrhydrometcenter information, will rise somewhat, noticeably so during the day. At night, thermometer readings may reach +11...+16°C, and on the sea coasts — up to +19°C. During the day, temperatures across Ukraine are expected to be within the range of +22...+27°C.

Forecast for Kyiv and the region

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, the weather on June 19 is also expected to be partly cloudy. The wind will be from the northwest, with speeds of 5–10 m/s. No precipitation is forecast for the capital and the region.

Additional information

Previously, Ukrhydrometcenter explained how meteorologists actually work and how weather forecasts are created. Ukrainians were also told how the groundhog Timka began to “forecast” the weather — a popular character that has become a symbol of nature’s spring awakening.
