An unpleasant incident occurred in the village of Vyzhenka in Bukovina, which could have ended in tragedy. During an excursion, a group of children simultaneously stepped onto an old wooden bridge. The structure could not withstand the load and collapsed.

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi Oblast, the accident took place in the Vyzhnytsia territorial community. As a result of the fall, several children sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity.

Condition of the injured and actions of rescuers

The injured children were promptly taken to a medical facility. They are currently under the supervision of doctors. The State Emergency Service clarified that professional rescuers did not need to be deployed to the scene, as the situation was contained by witnesses and chaperones.

Call for caution

Following the incident, emergency service specialists once again reminded the public of the need to strictly adhere to safety rules during leisure, walks, and excursions. In particular, rescuers urged citizens to:

  • Avoid creating excessive loads on bridges and other structures.
  • Pay attention to warning signs.
  • Avoid gathering in groups on unreliable structures.
  • Carefully follow the instructions of chaperones.

"Always assess possible risks before taking photos or videos in unusual locations," the State Emergency Service added. They emphasized that neglecting elementary safety rules can lead to serious injuries and other dangerous consequences.

Context of incidents involving children

This incident is not isolated in a series of accidents involving minors. Previously, in the Kharkiv region, a bus with children and teachers overturned, resulting in injuries. Additionally, at the end of May in the Mykolaiv region, a serious traffic accident involving a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport SUV occurred. The vehicle fell off a bridge into a river in the village of Voronovka in the Voznesensk district. As a result of the crash, six people were taken to the hospital, including five children aged between 9 and 15.
