A new transfer scandal has erupted in the Ukrainian football world. The official website of the Premier League has published the preliminary roster for Kyiv's Dynamo for the upcoming 2026/27 championship. The document has sparked a heated reaction from fans and experts, as the list of 34 players is missing key figures of the team.
Main surprise: absence of the leader
The most shocking news is the fact that Andriy Yarmolenko's name is not on the published list. The legendary winger, one of the leaders of the "white-and-blues," has not yet been included in the roster. In addition to Yarmolenko, the document is missing midfielder Angel Torres, forward Vladislav Blenuz, and the team's new goalkeeper Ilya Olkhovy.
Returns from loan and new faces
Instead of star losses, the coaching staff is betting on the return of players from loan. The official list includes the return of defenders Navin Malyshe (No. 23) and Alexey Gusev (No. 20), midfielders Valentin Rubchinsky (No. 15), Roman Salenko (No. 17), and Dutch legionnaire Justin Lonweyk (No. 21), as well as forward Vladislav Herich. Last season, all these players were gaining form in other clubs.
The roster also includes newcomers who joined the team in the summer. These are forward Pierre Mungenge, who chose the flashy number 99, and defender Tomasz Kenderza (No. 94).
Panic is premature
Experts note that the absence of famous players in the current version of the list is not a death sentence. The registration period for UPL clubs is open until early September. This means that the capital giant will definitely have time to add all necessary performers to the roster in the near future.
Season start: Europe and derby
The Kyivians will be the first among Ukrainian clubs to open the 2026/27 season. Already on Thursday, July 9, Dynamo will play in the first qualifying round of the Europa League against Romanian Universitatea Cluj. The match will take place in Poland at Arena Lublin, where the Kyivians are based in continental tournaments. The return leg will take place on July 16 in Romania.
In the first round of the new UPL championship, scheduled for August 1, Dynamo will host another capital club, "Levy Bereh," at their home arena.
