The market value of Ukrainian national team players competing in France has undergone significant changes. The analytical portal Transfermarkt has updated its data, revealing the polarized fate of two players: central defender Ilya Zabarny and striker Roman Yaremchuk.
The price drop of the PSG leader
The most dramatic changes affected Ilya Zabarny. The PSG central defender, who won the Champions League with the team, has lost 5 million euros in value. His current transfer fee stands at 40 million euros. This marks the third consecutive decrease in his valuation over the last eight months. His financial peak occurred in October 2025, when analysts valued the Ukrainian at 55 million euros.
The regression in value coincided with the emergence of loud rumors about a possible return of the footballer to England. Insider Dave Okop reports that "Liverpool" is considering Zabarny as a replacement for Ibrahima Konaté, who is leaving the team. Contacts between the player's representatives and the Merseysiders have already taken place.
Reasons for dissatisfaction and transfer prospects
The decrease in market value correlates with the fact that Ilya is not entirely satisfied with his position in Paris. Statistics show a contradictory picture: the defender played 37 matches in all tournaments (28 of them in Ligue 1), helping the club win the championship and defend their title in the Champions League. However, his role in European competitions turned out to be modest. Zabarny did not start in any Champions League knockout match, and in the final against "Arsenal," he only appeared on the field at the end of extra time, replacing Marquinhos.
The PSG management does not rule out selling the footballer but aims to recoup the invested funds. Last summer, the Parisians bought the Ukrainian from "Bournemouth" for 63 million euros. An additional incentive for a move to "Liverpool" could be the likely appointment of Andoni Iraola as the new head coach of the Merseysiders, with whom Zabarny has already successfully worked at "Girona".
Roman Yaremchuk's value increase
In contrast to his national team partner, striker Roman Yaremchuk managed to improve his financial indicators. The forward, who spent the second half of the season at "Lyon" on loan, added one million euros to his price tag. Now Transfermarkt values Roman at 3.5 million euros.
Yaremchuk joined "Lyon" in the winter and managed to participate in 14 matches in all tournaments. During this period, the Ukrainian forward scored 5 goals and recorded 1 assist.
Leaders of the French market
Despite the drop in Zabarny's value, his teammates continue to hold the leadership on the Ligue 1 market. The top 3 most expensive players in the championship consist entirely of PSG stars. Earlier, it was also reported that the former coach of the Ukrainians at "Girona" has taken charge of "Ajax," where Oleksandr Zinchenko plays.
