Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna made a sensational statement regarding the Ukrainian drone war and its impact on the Russian economy. In his view, incidents involving the crash of Ukrainian drones on the territory of NATO countries are an inevitable and «acceptable price» that Kyiv's allies must pay for the defeat of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

«Acceptable price» and support for Kyiv

The head of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not hide that in Tallinn they are «not happy» about the appearance of Ukrainian drones on their territory. However, despite these inconveniences, the Estonian leadership recognizes the strategic importance of the actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to Tsahkna, Ukraine is striking at a «vital artery» of the Russian regime.

The diplomat emphasized that Estonia is not calling on Kyiv to stop operations. On the contrary, he urged NATO allies not to hinder Ukraine in carrying out new long-range attacks, noting that the Ukrainian side is «doing everything right».

Response to Moscow's accusations

The statement by the Estonian minister was a response to accusations from the Kremlin. In Moscow, they claim that the Baltic states are directly participating in the attacks and allowing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to use their airspace. Margus Tsahkna called these claims «absurd fabrications».

In the diplomat's belief, such lies from Moscow only testify to Vladimir Putin's despair. Tsahkna noted that over the past two and a half months, the mood in the entourage of the Russian leader has changed, giving way to pessimism. The main reason for this, according to him, is the economic factor caused by strikes on deep targets in Russia.

Strike on oil exports

Tsahkna expressed delight at the new campaign of the Ukrainian Defense Forces aimed at long-range targets. He believes that Putin is «deeply worried» precisely about exports through the Baltic states. Reminding of the statistics, the minister pointed out that about 60% of exported Russian oil passes through the narrow Gulf of Finland, making this route critically vulnerable.

Forecast for the future

Despite the successes of the Ukrainian campaign, the Estonian diplomat warned against excessive optimism regarding the imminent surrender of the Kremlin. He does not rule out that Vladimir Putin will continue to resist, but predicts that he will «double his strategic mistakes».

Earlier, Ukrainian sources reported that the Russian leader is prone to distorting reality, claiming a fictitious retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Kremlin also discussed details of hypothetical summits and possible scenarios for a new wave of mobilization, however, the Estonian minister focuses attention on the current economic pressure, which, in his opinion, is already making itself felt.
