The night of June 7 and the morning of the same day became a time of heightened danger for the residents of Zaporizhzhia. The city was subjected to a series of attacks by Russian forces, leading to partial power outages and fires in residential and industrial areas.
As reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the enemy attempted to strike the region throughout the night. Specifically, threats from unmanned aerial vehicles, guided aerial bombs, and even ballistic missiles were recorded, prompting air raid alerts in the city.
Partial blackout and the work of energy workers
By the morning of June 7, the occupiers continued shelling the region, including the city of Zaporizhzhia itself. As a result of one of the strikes, one of the city's districts was partially left without power. Energy workers have already begun restoring electricity supply to power consumers as quickly as possible.
Fires and emergency services
Fedorov also reported that a fire broke out during the new attack. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to eliminate the consequences. This is not the first such incident: earlier, on the night of May 29, fires and damage to multi-story buildings were also recorded in Zaporizhzhia. And on May 5, following a strike, cars, shops, and industrial enterprises were burning, and residential buildings were damaged.
Regular attacks on critical infrastructure
Russians regularly use various means of destruction to strike Zaporizhzhia. Last night, objects of critical and industrial infrastructure came under fire. A fire occurred near a residential building as a result of a drone strike — another reminder that the threat persists even far from the front line.
The situation remains tense. Residents of the city continue to live in conditions of constant readiness for new attacks, while local authorities and emergency services are operating in a state of heightened readiness.
