During contacts with the Austrian Chancellor, the head of the Ukrainian state provided specific intelligence data. Moscow, it seems, has no intention of reducing the pace of pressure and is preparing a massive strike against Ukrainian cities and communities. This is not just rhetoric but a call to action for Western partners.
Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to Austria for its moral and political support but emphasized the practical aspect of the issue. In the context of constant air attacks, a joint response, primarily in the form of supplying air defense systems, becomes a key factor for survival.
Echo of the May Night: Lessons and Consequences
Kyiv’s forecasts are confirmed by the facts of recent weeks. On the night of May 24, the capital and Kyiv region were subjected to an unprecedented shelling. Russian forces used an arsenal of 90 missiles, including the medium-range ballistic missile "Oreshnik," and more than 600 unmanned aerial vehicles.
Ukrainian air defense systems demonstrated high efficiency, shooting down 55 missiles and 549 drones, but the cost of defense was high. Damage was recorded in almost all districts of Kyiv, residential buildings and infrastructure were affected. According to the latest data, three people were killed, 86 were injured, including three children.
Medical personnel continue to assist the injured: 31 people were hospitalized, three of them in critical condition. Another 16 received outpatient care. Reports from the scene vividly demonstrate the scale of destruction and confirm that Russia continues to commit war crimes on Ukrainian territory.
