Intensified Diplomacy for Sky Protection
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Kyiv is stepping up diplomatic efforts to secure new air defense packages. In his Telegram channel, the head of state stated that new contacts with intermediaries will take place this week, aimed at implementing concrete steps and proposals necessary to strengthen the protection of Ukraine's skies. "Ukraine is always active in diplomacy. There will be new contacts for air defense packages — to protect our state, our people," emphasized the president, highlighting the priority of citizen safety.
These statements come against the backdrop of ongoing Russian attacks, which require immediate reinforcement of air defense systems. Zelensky noted that Ukraine cannot rely solely on current supplies and needs to expand air defense capabilities, especially amid escalating aggression.
Recovery After Strikes and Service Operations
Large-scale recovery work continues in Odesa following the night attack. By morning, more than 300,000 households remained without electricity, but a third of them have already had power restored. All relevant services and repair crews are working in an enhanced mode to minimize the consequences of the strikes and resume the supply of vital resources.
Other regions of Ukraine were also hit. Emergency response services continue to assist the victims, while military and civilian specialists coordinate actions for the rapid restoration of infrastructure. Zelensky emphasized that every Russian strike will be met with an adequate response, and the war will become increasingly felt directly on Russian territory.
Counterstrikes on Russian Infrastructure
The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the SBU continue operations to strike Russian processing infrastructure, including oil refineries. Russian surface-to-air missile systems, radar stations, and facilities in the Azov and Black Sea regions were also targeted. These actions are aimed at weakening the enemy's military potential and protecting own territories.
In a conversation with Commander-in-Chief Mykhailo Drapaty, Zelensky emphasized that city protection remains a priority, and Ukraine will respond to every strike. "The war will become increasingly felt directly in Russia," the president stated, pointing to the strategy of retaliatory actions.
Issues with Patriot Production and Monthly Deliveries
Earlier, Zelensky stated that setting up the production of Patriot air defense systems in Ukraine under American licenses would take from 12 months to several years due to bureaucratic procedures. Despite this, Ukraine and the US have agreed on monthly deliveries of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems. However, according to the president, this quantity is insufficient to fully cover the needs of sky protection.
This situation underscores the need to accelerate diplomatic processes and find additional sources of supply. Zelensky called on the international community to take more active action to ensure Ukraine has sufficient air defense means.

There are discrepancies in estimates regarding the timeline for setting up Patriot production. On one hand, Zelensky points to 12 months or more due to bureaucracy.
