Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced the full restoration of Starlink satellite communication terminals and the uninterrupted flow of US intelligence data regarding ballistic threats. According to him, this was achieved following productive negotiations in Oslo that helped overcome previous crises in dialogue with international partners.
Oslo Negotiations Outcomes and Communication Recovery
In an interview with journalist Alla Mazur, the head of state noted that the emotional dialogue between Ukraine and the United States has returned to a constructive path and yielded concrete results. Specifically, the Starlink satellite network resumed operations on Saturday at 5:20 AM. The Ukrainian side received the necessary tools to coordinate actions and ensure security.
The President emphasized that previously, tension in relations was accompanied by three main challenges: a shortage of air defense systems and anti-aircraft missile complexes, restrictions on Starlink operations, and reduced volumes of intelligence information from the United States.
Current Status of Security and Air Defense Issues
To date, two of the three problematic issues have been successfully resolved, although the provision of additional air defense equipment remains on the agenda. Ukraine continues intensive work with allies to meet its airspace protection needs against missile strikes.
Separately, the head of state touched upon the topic of potential negotiations with the Russian side. He noted that the Russian leadership's agreement to dialogue does not yet guarantee actual meetings, and any intermediate statements require factual verification in practice.
Significance of Restoring Communication and Intelligence Channels
The restoration of uninterrupted Starlink operations and intelligence sharing with US partners is of critical importance for the resilience of Ukraine's defense forces and rapid response to aerial threats. Solving these logistical and technological issues strengthens the country's defense capabilities amid ongoing combat operations and pressure from Moscow.
