Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, speaking to journalists, articulated Kyiv's tough stance on the continuation of hostilities. The head of state declared that the Ukrainian side is not willing to tolerate aggression and will continue to respond to attacks, regardless of how much air defense systems around the Russian capital are strengthened.

Retaliatory Measures and Threat of Escalation

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine retains the ability to strike targets within the Russian Federation. "We said we would get to them. If Putin does not want to end this war, if he wants to continue, we will not sit quietly; we will respond," the president stated. He recalled the recent Russian strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and confirmed that Kyiv is preparing retaliatory actions.

Experts note that Zelenskyy's statements come against the backdrop of real events: explosions and fires were recorded in Moscow as a result of a drone attack. Temporary restrictions on airport operations were introduced in the capital, and the sky over the city was shrouded in smoke. Russian authorities reported on the work of air defense forces, attempting to neutralize the threat.

Appeal to Russian Citizens

In his speech, the President of Ukraine placed special emphasis on the role of civil society. Zelenskyy called on Russians to take responsibility and exert pressure on the country's leadership. In his opinion, it is society that should demand an end to the war.

"Therefore, in my opinion, everyone needs to pressure Putin. Ukrainians must pressure, absolutely all Europeans, Americans, and it is time for Russians to come to their senses and pressure their own leader," Zelenskyy said.

The Cost of Aggression

The President of Ukraine noted that Kyiv did not seek a conflict and is not interested in prolonging it. However, he warned that Russia will inevitably face the consequences of its own actions. "But if Ukraine burns, your Moscow will burn too," the head of state summarized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy added that it is now time to end the war and put an end to Russian aggression, emphasizing Ukraine's readiness for peace negotiations and a ceasefire.
