Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has outlined specific timelines for ending the conflict with Russia. During a meeting with Ukrainian ambassadors in Kyiv, the head of state stated that Kyiv will make every possible effort to ensure the war ends before the onset of winter 2026.
New algorithm of pressure on the Kremlin
Zelenskyy outlined a clear plan of action designed to push Moscow towards peace. Diplomacy plays a key role in this strategy. The President gave Ukrainian ambassadors a direct instruction to ensure maximum support for the "external track" in relations with international partners. The goal is to create such a level of isolation and pressure that Russia will have no alternative but to go to the negotiating table.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy admitted that it is impossible to accurately predict the exact moment when all instruments will take effect. However, he listed a complex of measures that should work in combination: Kyiv's long-range sanctions, strikes on the enemy's rear (mid-range strikes), and sanctions pressure from partner countries.
Response to the strategy of prolongation
The President emphasized that Kyiv is fully aware of the true intentions of the Russian leadership. According to Zelenskyy, Vladimir Putin is counting on prolonging the conflict, preparing a new mobilization, and planning new strikes. It is in response to these threats that Ukraine is uniting partners to increase pressure on the aggressor.
Although the ideal scenario remains ending the war in the current year, the country's leadership is realistically assessing the situation. Zelenskyy noted that they will try very hard to achieve peace in the autumn, but they understand who they are dealing with and are ready to continue the fight until winter 2026.
