In the town of Evian-les-Bains, against the backdrop of diplomatic meetings of the leaders of the "Group of Seven," Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined key points regarding the current status of the conflict. During his interaction with the media, the head of state emphasized the difference in approaches to a peaceful settlement: Kyiv is demonstrating political will to end hostilities, while Moscow, according to him, is not taking corresponding steps.
Recognition of Leadership and Readiness for Peace
Zelenskyy noted that international partners recognize the progress made by Ukraine over the last few months. In his speech, he highlighted three key factors that, in the opinion of allies, indicate the strengthening of Kyiv's positions:
- Demonstration of readiness to meet for a ceasefire.
- Activity and effectiveness on the battlefield.
- Development of strong positions in the areas of short-range and long-range strikes (microstrike and longrangestrike).
"All partners believe that Ukraine has demonstrated several things over the last few months in which its leadership has increased," the president emphasized in the video material.
Diplomatic Deadlock and Russia's Position
Despite the declared readiness for peace, Zelenskyy noted the lack of a response from the Russian side. According to him, the political conditions for a ceasefire on the part of Ukraine have been met, but the Russian leadership is not showing serious activity in this direction.
"Politically, Ukraine is ready to end the war and cease fire, but Russia is not demonstrating any serious activity in these directions. Everything else is some kind of, well, as some kind of, everyone understands, what game," the head of state declared.
G7 Support and Geopolitical Context
An important outcome of the negotiations was the unanimous expression of support for the Ukrainian side by the countries of the "Group of Seven." Zelenskyy interpreted this as evidence of serious political changes on the international arena. From an analytical point of view, such unity of Western partners strengthens Kyiv's position in negotiations, creating pressure on the opponent, who, according to the president's statement, prefers to drag out the process instead of taking real steps towards peace.
