The night could be one of the most dangerous for Ukraine in recent times. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the citizens with a warning: intelligence is detecting preparations for a new massive Russian strike, which could be launched within the next few hours.
"Pay attention to air raid sirens"
The head of state urged all Ukrainians to be extremely vigilant. "We know from intelligence that a massive Russian strike could happen tonight. Please, pay attention to the sirens," Zelenskyy emphasized in his statement, as cited by RBC-Ukraine.
The focus is on the critical shortage of air defense systems. The President stated directly that the current level of supply does not allow for shooting down a significant portion of missiles. In this regard, he appealed to partners around the world and European countries to ensure continuous delivery of air defense missiles, modern defense systems, and vital intelligence that directly affects saving lives.
New enemy strategy: striking at missile potential
Russia is changing tactics and choosing new priority targets. Zelenskyy revealed that the aggressor has identified Ukrainian companies demonstrating progress in missile technology development as a key direction for military, political, and propaganda attacks.
The Kremlin considers the possibility of Ukraine independently producing ballistic missiles and interception systems for ballistics as a strategic threat. These facilities are now in the crosshairs.
Consequences of night attacks: destruction and casualties
The situation has worsened following the events of the night of June 2, when Russia carried out a large-scale combined strike. The enemy used about 70 missiles and almost 700 drones. Although most targets were shot down, dozens of ballistic missiles still reached their targets.
In the morning, the aggressor struck one of the key "Naftogaz" facilities in the Kharkiv region, using first drones and then missiles. In Kyiv, the consequences of the attack are felt acutely: part of the city was left without electricity, and public transport movement was disrupted due to damage to the overhead contact line.
According to the latest data, residential buildings and civilian infrastructure have been damaged as a result of the attacks. There are reports of six killed and more than 80 injured. The threat remains, and public vigilance remains the main tool for survival during these hours.
