Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined Kyiv's strategy for retaliatory actions, stating that Russia must feel the war as acutely as Ukrainians do. The head of state made the relevant statement during a press conference with the leaders of the Nordic countries and the Baltic states.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is already responding to Russian attacks, but currently does not have sufficient means for full parity. Nevertheless, Kyiv is aiming for a sharp increase in its own weapons production. The President promised that the country will reach such volumes of missile and drone production that will allow it to fully repel Russian attacks.
Scaling up strikes
During his speech, Zelenskyy cited a specific figure necessary to achieve a strategic effect. He emphasized that for Russia to truly feel the weight of the war, the level of strikes must reach about 600 drones and missiles per day.
«Russia understands that if there are 600 drones and missiles a day, they will feel this war just as we do», — the President noted.
Current activity in the enemy's rear
At present, Ukrainian forces are already demonstrating the ability to strike deep into enemy territory. Drone operators of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) continue to block the land corridor connecting Crimea and Donetsk. It is noted that Ukrainian saboteurs are successfully destroying Russian occupiers' equipment even in the deep rear.
Previously, Ukrainian intelligence has already struck railway trains in occupied Crimea. These trains were transporting critically important cargo: fuel, ammunition, and armored vehicles necessary for combat operations.
New weapons for the deep rear
To enhance capabilities to strike targets in the enemy's rear, Ukraine is actively developing its own weapons. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced the creation of the first domestic glide bomb, named «Leveler».
The new weapon is equipped with a 250-kilogram warhead. It was developed specifically for the precise destruction of objects located far from the front line, which will allow Ukraine to more effectively implement its strategy of retaliatory strikes.
