The main sports arena of Zhytomyr — the 'Central' stadium — is undergoing a massive transformation. On the eve of the 2026/27 football season, the venue is being prepared for major matches, while the infrastructure is being updated for both fans and teams.

Complete replacement of seating and new skyboxes

Construction workers and repair crews are actively working on the stadium stands. To meet modern standards, the process of completely replacing spectator seats is underway. Additionally, the renovation project includes the construction of eight modern skyboxes — special enclosed boxes for the most comfortable viewing of sporting events.

Update of sanitary infrastructure

Significant changes will also affect the sanitary zone: a major overhaul of the toilet facilities for arena visitors is currently taking place. This will ensure comfort for all spectators during matches.

New technical zones for teams

Infrastructure improvements are also being prepared for football players and coaching staff. Two completely new technical zones meeting all requirements for top-level matches are being set up at the arena.

The final stretch and the first match

Construction work at the site has reached the final stretch. Organizers plan to complete the renovation by the first official match of the new championship, where the local team 'Polesye' will face FC 'Kharkiv' on their updated pitch. This match will take place in just one week — on August 10.

Earlier, it was reported that 'Polesye' defeated 'Chornomorets' in the UPL with spectacular goals.
