In matchday 4 of the Champions League, Shakhtar will host Sporting at Stamford Bridge amid a coaching change in Lisbon. Matches between Atletico and Bayern, Barcelona and Aston Villa, and others will also take place.

Shakhtar head coach Arda Turan stated that the team is ready for the Champions League match against Sporting and will not abandon its possession-based style of play, despite Luis Suarez's high form.

Paulo Fonseca reacted emotionally to Lyon's win over Angers (2:0) and, according to 20 Minutes, hinted at his departure in the dressing room. Sporting has officially parted ways with Rui Borges, while Portuguese media report an agreement with Fonseca.

According to L'Equipe, Lisbon's Sporting has opened negotiations with Lyon over the appointment of Paulo Fonseca as head coach. The Portuguese manager could return to his home league for the first time since 2016.
