Birth of a gravastar: what does a black hole alternative look like?

The image depicts a hypothetical gravastar structure — an object with extreme gravity but no event horizon. An accretion disk swirls around the dark core, distorted by gravitational effects. This is the first computer model of such an object’s formation, created by German scientists.
