On the daytime of September 29, 2026, Russian occupation forces launched a massive air attack on the territory of Ukraine, using a record number of strike unmanned aerial vehicles of various modifications. According to the official data of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, the enemy deployed 112 drones, which included both traditional devices and modern jet UAVs, such as Gerbera modifications, as well as Banderol and Dan-T drones.
Massive Raid and Air Defense Operations
Ukraine's air defense forces and assets conducted intensive combat operations throughout the daylight hours to repel the air assault. According to preliminary official data, Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners, mobile fire group crews, and electronic warfare assets managed to shoot down and suppress 95 enemy drones. Particular complexity for air defense forces was posed by 18 jet drones, which were also successfully eliminated in the skies over various regions of the country.
Ongoing Threat in the Evening
As of 7:35 PM, the military records the continuation of enemy activity: several enemy strike UAVs are still observed in Ukraine's airspace. Defense Forces units continue to monitor the situation and remain on high alert to neutralize the remaining drones in the sky. Local authorities urge citizens to remain in shelters until an official air raid alert cancellation is announced.
Context of Continuous Night and Day Attacks
It is worth noting that the current daytime attack became a continuation of a series of massive strikes by the Russian Federation. Thus, last night the enemy launched a Tsirkon or Oniks anti-ship missile, two Iskander-M / S-400 ballistic missiles, and 152 Shahed-type strike drones at Ukraine. A day earlier, on September 28, the launch of another 165 UAVs was recorded, 79 of which were also jet-powered, indicating a shift in tactics and an increase in the use of high-speed strike assets.
