Ukraine is daily increasing its level of defense protection against massive air attacks by the Russian Federation. The issue of strengthening the skies remains an absolute priority for the state leadership, the military, and the country's strategic partners amid ongoing drone and missile strikes.

Strengthening Air Defense

Following a recent strategic meeting with relevant ministers and the top generals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the preparation and conclusion of important defense contracts. Special attention during negotiations and planning is paid to the technological renewal of interception assets, including the deployment of modern turrets and specialized mobile fire groups aimed at destroying Shahed-type strike UAVs.

The Head of State emphasized that the financing of these initiatives is fully secured, and domestic and foreign manufacturers have been given strict tasks for the accelerated production of effective interceptors. At the same time, Ukrainian authorities are purposefully working on expanding the nomenclature of anti-aircraft missile systems.

New Contracts and Antiballistics

The president announced the imminent conclusion of large-scale contracts for the supply of modern air defense systems and scarce missiles for them. Although specific details and the names of partner countries are not yet disclosed for security reasons, Kyiv expects serious breakthrough steps in the near future capable of qualitatively changing the situation in the skies.

A special emphasis in the speech was placed on the need to supply antiballistic missiles. According to Zelenskyy, protecting critical infrastructure from ballistic threats is the main challenge of the current period, as Moscow continues its course toward military escalation, ignoring any peace initiatives.
