In August 2026, the international technology company Ajax Systems announced the scaling of its educational initiative. For the second year in a row, the company is giving talented Ukrainian youth the opportunity to visit the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) — one of the largest technology exhibitions in the world. This year, the participant quota has been doubled: 60 engineering students will be sent to the exhibition in Las Vegas.
Scaling the Ajax Next program
The decision to double the number of participants was a response to high interest in the project. While the company selected 30 students last year, 60 winners will be chosen to participate in CES 2027, which will take place in January 2027. Applications are accepted until August 30, 2026. The project is implemented within the framework of the Ajax Next program, which is aimed at developing engineering education in Ukraine and supporting a new generation of inventors. The company covers all expenses related to participation in the event: logistics, accommodation, meals, and visa processing.
Selection mechanics and participation criteria
Engineering students from all over Ukraine can participate in the selection. The selection process will take place in two stages. First, a ranking list of candidates will be formed according to certain criteria. Students with the highest results will receive invitations for interviews, at the end of which the final 60 participants will be determined. When evaluating applications, technical competencies, project experience, and the ambition of the candidates' goals will be taken into account. A detailed list of criteria can be found on the project page.
Experience from previous years and global ambitions
Last year, Ukrainian students not only familiarized themselves with new products from world manufacturers but also attended speeches by leaders of such giants as Siemens, NVIDIA, AMD, and Lenovo. An important part of the program was the presentation of their own projects in the Ukrainian pavilion. Alexander Konotopsky, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ajax Systems, emphasized that the goal of the initiative is to show young people global engineering standards and "infect" them with the desire to create technologies of the future. "We want 'creating' and 'inspiring' to become a national movement," he noted.
Strategic partners and the significance of CES
The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Startup Fund, and leading universities in the country: KPI, KAI, KNU, NU "LP", UKU, and NaUKMA. Universities provide information support and form the jury to evaluate questionnaires. Historically, CES is a platform where industry development vectors are determined — "Tetris," the first PCs, and the latest AI solutions were presented here. Ajax Systems, as Europe's largest manufacturer of security systems, sees this method of supporting youth as a tool for influencing global technological changes.
