Summer 2026 was a landmark period for the Ukrainian tourism market: familiar routes transformed, and tourists became more selective in choosing destinations. Although the top 5 most popular countries remained the same, significant changes occurred in traveler preferences within these directions. Experts note a steady trend of moving away from overcrowded resorts in favor of more secluded and comfortable locations.

Top 5 Destinations and the Egypt Phenomenon

According to data from "Travel Agency No. 1" and comments by company founder Yuri Hryniv, the top five leaders in tour sales this summer were Albania, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, and Egypt. Notably, Egypt maintained its positions even during the hottest months. Experts attribute this to climatic features: dry air allows for easier tolerance of high temperatures compared to the humid heat characteristic of many European destinations during peak season.

Ukrainians showed particular interest in the resort of El Alamein in northern Egypt. Unlike traditional Hurghada or Sharm El-Sheikh, this region is not famous for coral reefs but compensates with white sandy beaches and crystal clear water. Weather conditions here are more reminiscent of the Mediterranean, and the season is limited to the period from June to September, making it attractive for summer vacations.

Budget Comfort and Seasonal Discounts

Pricing remains a key issue for Ukrainian tourists. A comfortable budget for a trip for two, including flight, accommodation, transfer, and insurance, in 2026 ranges from 80,000 to 140,000 UAH. It is within this range that travelers can choose hotels according to their wishes rather than being limited to available offers. If the budget is below 80,000 UAH, the choice of hotels depends significantly on specific dates and promotions.

However, June 2026 became a month of advantageous purchases. Experts note that some hotels, which cost 100,000–120,000 UAH in July-August, could be booked for 55,000–65,000 UAH at the beginning of the summer. Particularly noticeable savings were recorded for destinations in Albania, Italy, and Cyprus. Regarding trip duration, the most popular format remains 7-night tours, although bookings for 9–10 or 14 days are becoming more frequent.

Trend for Seclusion: Fuerteventura and the New Albania

Compared to the summer of 2025, there were no radical changes in the list of countries, but the demand for less mass destinations intensified. Tourists began to evaluate not only the hotel but also the resort itself: infrastructure, natural locations, and the absence of crowds. One of the unexpected favorites of the season was the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, interest in which increased noticeably.

Interesting metamorphoses also occurred in Albania. Traditional favorites Ksamil and Saranda, which became too popular and overcrowded, ceded leadership to Vlore. This resort offers new modern hotels, an all-inclusive format, and more accessible prices. Vlore is also convenient because it is located near the so-called "Albanian Maldives" and serves as an excellent base for day trips.

Contradictory Data

While the main source (Wave RBC.UA) claims that Ukrainian preferences did not change radically, but rather the focus shifted to less mass resorts, other market studies (for example, data from delo.ua) point to deeper structural shifts. According to alternative data, Ukrainians are not only changing locations but also planning longer, more expensive vacations and booking tours significantly earlier. This creates a certain discrepancy: on one hand, experts speak of the stability of the top 5 countries, on the other—of rising prices and changing consumer behavior, which may indicate a shift to a more premium travel segment.
