On the night of November 6, 2026, the Armed Forces of Russia launched a strike on the energy infrastructure of the Kyiv region. This was reported by the Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko, whose statement was published by RBC-Ukraine. According to the RMA, three people were injured in the attack, and energy facilities sustained damage in two districts of the region simultaneously—Bila Tserkva and Obukhiv. Operational services are working at the incident sites to eliminate the consequences of the nighttime strike.

Victims and destroyed buildings in Boryspil district

The most tangible consequences of the attack were recorded in the Boryspil district of the Kyiv region. Following the strike, a private residential building and an outbuilding caught fire; the fire completely destroyed both structures. Three local residents sustained injuries of varying severity. According to medical staff, two of them are experiencing acute stress reactions, while another man was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and limb abrasions. All victims received medical assistance at the scene, and hospitalization was not required.

Damage to energy infrastructure and educational institutions

In addition to the Boryspil district, damage to energy facilities was recorded in the Bila Tserkva and Obukhiv districts. The Bila Tserkva community reported that on the evening of November 5, three jet-propelled unmanned aerial vehicles were launched at the energy infrastructure. In the Obukhiv district, the blast wave from an impact blew out windows in an educational building and a dormitory of one of the educational institutions. The Bila Tserkva City Council confirmed that power engineers are working to restore power supply and switch consumers to backup lines, while noting that the risk of new attacks remains high.

Context of the nighttime strike: over 200 drones across Ukraine

The attack on the Kyiv region became part of a large-scale nighttime strike across Ukraine. According to RBC-Ukraine, on the night of November 6, Russia launched more than 200 unmanned aerial vehicles across the country, of which 86 were Shahed-type jet drones. According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of 08:00 on November 6, 196 drones were shot down or suppressed, and impacts were recorded at 14 locations nationwide. Thus, the Kyiv region was among the regions targeted during this nighttime wave of attacks.

Consequence mitigation and power restoration

Currently, emergency and operational services are working at the impact and damage sites. Power engineers are carrying out work to restore electricity supply to damaged areas and switch consumers to backup lines. The Kyiv City State Administration additionally reported that all water supply and sewage pumping stations in the capital are operating normally, and pressure in Kyiv's water supply networks is maintained within standard limits. Full restoration of power supply in the affected areas is expected within a day, with exact timelines depending on the extent of equipment damage.
