An incident involving an unmanned aerial vehicle has been recorded in Zaporizhzhia, resulting in a major fire at a civilian infrastructure facility. The fire broke out on the premises of a food industry enterprise, where flames engulfed production workshops and warehouse facilities.
According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, the cause of the incident was the detonation of a UAV. Extensive firefighting operations are underway at the scene: reinforced teams from the State Emergency Service (SES) and high-reach equipment have been deployed. Emergency service personnel are dousing structures to prevent re-ignition.
Published footage clearly shows the scale of the smoke and open flames on the building's roof. Parallel to the firefighters' work, logistics vehicles have been deployed on the site to evacuate surviving material assets. Currently, there is no information about casualties or injuries among the staff or residents.
The Ukrainian side has classified the incident as an attack on economic infrastructure. Law enforcement agencies have begun gathering materials to document the damage. Access for civilians to the enterprise premises is restricted in accordance with martial law regulations. No official comments from the Russian Ministry of Defense regarding this strike have been received yet.
