American defense giants L3Harris and Shield AI have made a breakthrough in military technology, successfully completing the first test flight of a fully automated electronic warfare (EW) system. The demonstration proved the ability to detect, analyze, and neutralize electromagnetic threats without human intervention in the control loop.
Synergy of Command Systems and Artificial Intelligence
The key element of the tests was the integration of two cutting-edge technologies. The DiSCO (Distributed Spectrum Collaboration and Operations) combat management system from L3Harris was combined with Hivemind AI-based software deployed on the Green Wolf platform from Shield AI. This combination created a unified decision-making loop operating in real-time.
Specialized Deceptor EW equipment installed on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) was used during testing. Receiving threat data from the DiSCO system, the Hivemind algorithm automatically controlled the aircraft and redirected other UAVs to safe zones, allowing them to avoid powerful electromagnetic jamming simulating enemy actions.
Response Speed and Autonomy
The test results confirmed that the Green Wolf platform is capable of effectively supporting a wide range of tasks in distributed and networked operations. Particularly important was the proof that the "collective mind" (Hivemind) can radically shorten the cycle from target detection to decision-making.
Automated systems demonstrated the ability to quickly identify electromagnetic threats, instantly exchange information between network nodes, and respond to changing situations.
