The fiancé of Ukrainian TV host Lesia Nikituk, serviceman Dmytro Babchuk, posted a photo on Instagram stories of an unusual gift prepared for his beloved’s birthday. The image captures a designer composition decorating a room's wall: a large round wall panel made of dozens of volumetric white elements with red and orange recesses, resembling corals or blooming cotton, and a small pink upholstered stool placed underneath the composition. Babchuk jokingly admitted that he does not understand art very well, but the most important thing for him is Lesia's reaction. In the same photo, the couple poses in an informal setting: Dmytro kisses Nikituk on the cheek while she makes a funny face for the camera.
Ukrainian "Bavovna" panel: biocomposite and eight weeks of manufacturing
The sculptural panel gifted by Babchuk belongs to the Ukrainian brand Yalanzhi Objects and is named "Bavovna" (Cotton). The 120-centimeter diameter wall composition is created from the proprietary Zemletsvit biocomposite and consists of numerous volumetric elements styled as cotton flowers or coral formations. The model has been featured in the brand's collection since 2018, meaning it was over seven years old by the time of the gift. On the manufacturer's official website, the price of the panel is 2,400 euros (approximately 122,400 hryvnias). Crafting the composition takes about eight weeks, as such items are primarily made to order, making each piece practically unique.
Pink Petstools Daisy stool: German design and French production
Beneath the panel in the photo, an unusual pink stool is visible, which visually matches the Petstools Daisy model. This work was created by German designer Anna Emilie Ernsting for the French brand Petite Friture. The Petstools collection is inspired by animal images, and the Daisy model resembles a piglet due to characteristic decorative details on the upholstery. In European stores, the price of such stools is approximately 360–390 euros (17,500–19,000 hryvnias). Currently, the model is difficult to find on open sale, though individual stores offer collection leftovers at discounts.
Total gift value and relationship context
The estimated total cost of the panel and stool is about 140,000–141,000 hryvnias. Lesia Nikituk confirmed her relationship with Dmytro Babchuk in the autumn of 2024. Her partner is a serviceman, nine years younger than the TV host. In early 2025, the couple announced their engagement: Dmytro proposed during a joint vacation. In June 2025, Lesia became a mother for the first time—the couple had a son named Oscar. The lovers occasionally share family moments on social media, although they prefer to keep most details of their personal life behind closed doors. At the time of this publication, Oscar was a year and a half old, and the couple's wedding has not yet taken place.
How the couple behaves in the public eye
Dmytro Babchuk rarely publishes content on social media, but the posts he does share generate significant interest among followers. Previously, he shared rare photos of their growing son, archival pictures of his grandfather and father, as well as footage of a joint vacation with Oscar during which he was recovering from a leg surgery. Followers note that the couple consciously limits the amount of public material, preserving the privacy of their family life. The birthday gift for Lesia became one of the few instances where Babchuk publicly demonstrated attention to his partner through the lens of interior design, emphasizing his desire to combine military service with care for loved ones.
