Ukrainian defense company BlueBird Tech has unveiled a new version of a fixed-wing drone called «Bebradron KIT». The aircraft is positioned as a modular platform developed for engineering teams that require flexibility in selecting onboard equipment. The novelty is based on the combat-proven «Bebradron» airframe; however, the key distinction of the «KIT» version lies in the principle of design freedom: the customer independently determines the aircraft's configuration when placing an order, choosing the control systems, video transmission channels, cameras, flight electronics, navigation equipment, and other specialized modules. According to the company, the platform is intended primarily for users for whom the standard factory configuration is no longer sufficient.

Modular Architecture and a Tailored Approach to Configuration

In addition to the ability to select components independently, BlueBird Tech offers an alternative form of cooperation: the company's engineers take on the selection, installation, and configuration of equipment in accordance with a specific customer's technical specification. This approach allows the same airframe to be adapted for reconnaissance, fire correction, monitoring, or other specialized functions without the need to develop a separate carrier. The platform's modularity lowers the barrier to entry for small engineering groups, which can scale functionality according to their tasks and budget without being tied to a rigid factory specification.

Technical Specifications and Tactical Parameters

The «Bebradron KIT» develops a cruise speed of 90 km/h, with a maximum flight speed reaching 150 km/h. The platform's tactical range of operation is up to 45 km, and the maximum payload is up to 7.5 kg. Flight duration reaches 30 minutes, launch is carried out from a pneumatic catapult, and the operating altitude ranges from 150 to 500 meters. The company emphasizes that actual flight performance depends on the chosen platform configuration, installed equipment, battery type, total weight and payload, weather conditions, and the flight mode of a given airframe. Thus, the figures provided represent the upper limit of capabilities, while the actual parameters are determined at the integration stage.

The unveiling of the «Bebradron KIT» fits into a broader trend of expanding robotic means in the armed forces. Recently, Turkish defense company FNSS presented the U-MAV (Multi-Purpose Modular Unmanned Amphibious Vehicle), a floating ground robotic complex that reaches a speed of up to 7 knots on water and up to 70 km/h on land. In parallel, it was reported that the Ukrainian Protector UGV doubled its payload capacity and received a new type of communication.
