American blogger Laura Loomer, known for her connections to Donald Trump's circle, has arrived in Ukraine. In a new post on the social network X, she admitted that she had previously been mistaken in her statements about Ukraine and was under the influence of Russian propaganda.
'I am not in Russia because I am not a propagandist'
In the published video, Loomer is seen arriving by train on Ukrainian territory. The caption for the clip sounds like a direct statement of her position: 'I am not in Russia because I am not a propagandist'.
Immediately after this, the blogger posted another update, in which she included a clip from the Russian TV channel Russia Today. In it, the pro-Kremlin media outlet showed two of her own unflattering statements about Ukraine and advised her to delete them.
Admission of mistake
Commenting on the situation, Loomer did not deny authorship of these words, but immediately clarified her current view of events:
'I really did say these things about Ukraine and Zelenskyy, and I am not deleting my posts because I realized I was wrong. I lived in an information bubble and was under the influence of Russian propaganda spread through social networks, which is why I believed these claims. That is why I came to Ukraine to see the country with my own eyes,' she wrote.
According to the blogger, she intends to find evidence of the propaganda she was 'fed'. If she does not find it, she plans to report this publicly so that other people can also 'see the light'.
Shock at what she saw in Bucha
On the very first day of her stay in the country, Loomer saw photos of murdered priests in Bucha, who, according to her, were killed by Russia. She also visited a mass grave where, according to her information, the bodies of Christians are buried who died after Russia 'sent forces from Chechnya to massacre civilians'.
In addition, the blogger met with representatives of services engaged in the release of prisoners of war. They showed her photos of Ukrainian prisoners 'whose foreheads were burned with swastikas by Russians'.
'So who are the Nazis here?'
Summarizing her visit, Loomer made an emotional statement:
'So who are the Nazis here? I have been lied to for years. I realized that Ukraine and Zelenskyy do not justify jihadists at all... It is Russia and Putin who are doing this! I was wrong! And now I am obliged to correct this false information. Russia is very good at conducting information warfare'.
Thus, Laura Loomer, previously considered part of the pro-Kremlin information field, now openly criticizes Russian propaganda and calls on others to reconsider their views.
