On the night of Saturday, August 15, 2026, the Odesa region was subjected to another massive attack by Russian combat drones. According to the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service (SES) and the Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Kiper, the main strike hit the civilian infrastructure of the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi district. As a result of a series of explosions, facilities of one of the region's key industrial enterprises were destroyed and burned down.
Fires in Workshops and Destroyed Infrastructure
Enemy kamikaze drones made several direct hits on the territory of a local shoe factory (according to insiders, the production facilities of the well-known national brand 'Belsta' were damaged). As a result of the attack, part of the production building was completely destroyed, a powerful fire broke out in the canteen and boiler room premises, and a passenger car parked on the territory was burned.
The powerful shockwave and flying debris caused serious damage to the factory's main administrative building: the glazing was almost completely destroyed, and the facade was disfigured. Simultaneously, at another location in the district, a fire broke out in an abandoned private house due to falling drone debris; due to the drought, the flames quickly spread to the dry grass.

15 rescuers and 5 units of special SES equipment were promptly deployed to extinguish the fires. The work of the fire brigades was critically complicated by the dry, windy weather, but by morning, all fire sites were completely extinguished. Nevertheless, the attack deals a heavy economic blow to Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi. The 'Belsta' factory is a city-forming enterprise and one of the leaders of the Ukrainian light industry, providing jobs for thousands of local residents. The destruction of the boiler room and life-support infrastructure of the plant on the eve of the autumn season puts the stable operation of the enterprise at risk. Raids on the district have been recorded for the second day in a row: the day before, the Russian army also destroyed a large grain storage facility with missiles and damaged a resort hotel on the coast.
