Budanov Issues Alarming Forecast on North Korea: It Is a Matter of Time

North Korea is actively using the experience of Russia's war against Ukraine to improve its own weapons and develop its regular army. In parallel, Pyongyang is rapidly building up comprehensive military cooperation with Moscow, creating new threats to international security.

This was stated by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, in a recent interview with NewsForce. According to him, the North Korean regime is not limited exclusively to supplying conventional weapons and materials to Russia, but also sends its military personnel directly to combat zones.

Lessons of Modern War and Militarization

By gaining valuable combat experience on the battlefields in Ukraine, North Korea successfully adapts it to modernize its own armed forces. Pyongyang is adopting the latest types of equipment, some of which are of direct Russian origin, and is actively developing unmanned technologies, including the mass production of attack drones.

The Head of the President's Office emphasized that such rapid militarization of the region does not contribute to stability. On the contrary, it may indicate Pyongyang's preparation for active combat operations directly on the Korean Peninsula, where the situation along the demarcation line continues to heat up.

Despite official statements from the Ukrainian side regarding the large-scale participation of North Korean troops and the supply of missile and artillery weapons, North Korean and Russian officials traditionally deny these accusations, calling them speculations. At the same time, independent Western investigations and intelligence data confirm the deepening military-technical cooperation between the two countries.

Experts and international observers note that the alliance between Moscow and Pyongyang significantly prolongs the conflict in Ukraine and destabilizes the situation in the Asia-Pacific region.
