Football club Bukovyna is nearing the completion of a large-scale renovation of its home stadium in Chernivtsi, aimed at bringing the arena in line with Ukrainian Premier League standards. At present, the main construction work on the football pitch and the club office has been fully completed, with the primary focus of modernization remaining the installation of a brand-new, modern lighting system.
Stages of Modernization and Completion Deadlines
Ihor Nabolotny, the club's financial director, stated that the contractor expects to finish lighting installation in approximately one month. The final timeline directly depends on weather conditions and other operational factors, though the pace of work remains high. As part of the upgrade, four new lighting towers are being erected at the arena, while city authorities will handle the old structures so they do not interfere with football matches.
Technical Features of the New Lighting
Chernivtsi Mayor Roman Kluchuk previously noted that the modern lighting system is being installed on advanced poles designed for energy-efficient equipment. In addition to the masts themselves, the project includes installing a new transformer and increasing the stadium's electrical grid capacity. A crucial safety feature is the backup generator power supply, which will ensure continuous lighting operation even during city power outages.
Infrastructure Significance for the Club
The extensive stadium overhaul is viewed by Bukovyna's management as a vital step toward full club development and mandatory UPL certification. Successful commissioning of the new lighting system will pave the way for the team to return to its home arena in front of local fans. The entire stadium infrastructure is systematically being upgraded to meet the modern demands of professional Ukrainian football.
