Kyiv's Dynamo has officially strengthened its goalkeeping position with the return of one of the club's most experienced homegrown players. The capital's team announced an agreement with Zhytomyr's Polesia to loan 32-year-old goalkeeper Georgiy Bushchan. This is reported by Sport RBC.UA, citing Dynamo's official website. For a goalkeeper who rose through the "white-and-blue" system from the youth academy to the first team, this is a return home after a year away from Kyiv.
Deal details and loan term
According to the official announcement, Dynamo did not buy out Bushchan's contract directly but signed a loan agreement with Zhytomyr's Polesia, where the goalkeeper had been playing since summer 2025. The loan deal runs until the end of the 2026/2027 season, meaning the goalkeeper will remain at the disposal of the Kyiv club at least until the end of the current football year. This format allows Dynamo to reinforce the position quickly without long-term financial commitments, while giving Bushchan the chance to return to a familiar environment and compete for a place in the starting lineup.
Bushchan's path at Dynamo and his achievements
Georgiy Bushchan is one of those players whose career is inextricably linked to the Kyiv club. He grew up in Dynamo's system from the youth academy to the status of first-choice goalkeeper, making 181 official appearances for the "white-and-blues." To his credit are the Ukrainian championship title, two domestic cups, and three Super Cups, as well as numerous matches in the Champions League and Europa League, where he guarded the capital team's goal on the international stage. A year away from Kyiv: Saudi Arabia and Polesia
In January 2025, Bushchan left Dynamo and moved to Saudi Arabia, where he played for Al-Shabab (transliterated as Ash-Shabab in some sources). Before leaving, he bid farewell to the Kyiv club's fans, noting that the team and he had taken different paths of development. In summer 2025, the goalkeeper moved to Zhytomyr's Polesia — first on loan, and then signed a full contract with the Zhytomyr side. Now, a year later, he is returning to Kyiv in the status of a Dynamo loanee.

Bushchan's return became part of the Kyiv club's broader transfer campaign. Earlier, Dynamo announced the signing of the prolific Brazilian winger Gustavo Prado, also on loan until 2027.
