Currency rates on August 6: dollar stands still, euro rises — where is it most profitable to exchange currency?

The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official currency rates for August 6. The dollar has stabilized, while the euro, after yesterday's drop, has risen again in price. We analyze the rates offered by major banks and exchange offices to find out where it is most profitable to exchange currency today.

NBU official rates and the situation in exchange offices

According to the Minfin portal, as of the morning of August 6, the average dollar rate in exchange offices is 44.75 hryvnias (unchanged) for selling and 44.65 hryvnias (+2 kopecks) for buying.

The euro in exchange offices is being sold today at 51.65 hryvnias (+10 kopecks), and bought at 51.45 hryvnias (+10 kopecks).

Rates in major banks

Banks today are selling dollars at an average rate of 44.92 hryvnias (-5 kopecks), and buying at 44.48 hryvnias (-1 kopeck). The euro in banks can be bought at 52.00 hryvnias (+16 kopecks), and sold at 51.25 hryvnias (+7 kopecks).

PrivatBank

PrivatBank is selling dollars in branches today at 44.90 hryvnias (unchanged), while the rate for cards is 44.84 hryvnias (unchanged). Euros can be bought in branches at 51.95 hryvnias (+5 kopecks), and the rate for cards is 52.08 hryvnias (+27 kopecks).

Oschadbank

Oschadbank sells dollars via "Mobile Oschad" at 44.85 hryvnias (+8 kopecks), and for cards at 45.00 hryvnias (unchanged). Euros in the mobile app can be bought at 51.90 hryvnias (+31 kopecks), and for cards at 52.00 hryvnias (+10 kopecks).

PUMB

"PUMB" sells dollars in branches at 45.10 hryvnias (unchanged), and at the commercial rate at 44.90 hryvnias (unchanged). Euros in the bank's cash desks can be bought at 52.10 hryvnias (+20 kopecks).

Monobank

Monobank sells dollars at 44.83 hryvnias (unchanged), and euros at 52.05 hryvnias (+25 kopecks).

Buying the dollar

Among major banks, the most profitable rate for buying dollars today is Monobank — 44.83 hryvnias. Next are PrivatBank — 44.84 hryvnias, Oschadbank via "Mobile Oschad" — 44.85 hryvnias, as well as PrivatBank in branches and PUMB at the commercial rate — at 44.90 hryvnias.

Buying the euro

If buying euros, the lowest rate today is offered by Oschadbank via "Mobile Oschad" — 51.90 hryvnias. Next are PrivatBank in branches — 51.95 hryvnias, Oschadbank for cards — 52.00 hryvnias, Monobank — 52.05 hryvnias, while PUMB sells the European currency the most expensively — at 52.10 hryvnias.

Selling the dollar

The highest buying rate for dollars today is offered by Oschadbank via "Mobile Oschad" and PUMB at the commercial rate — 44.60 hryvnias. Next are Oschadbank (cards) — 44.50 hryvnias, Monobank — 44.46 hryvnias, PrivatBank (card rate) — 44.45 hryvnias, while in PrivatBank branches dollars are bought at 44.30 hryvnias.

Selling the euro

It is most profitable to sell euros at PUMB — at 51.40 hryvnias. At 51.35 hryvnias, the currency is bought by Oschadbank via "Mobile Oschad" and Monobank, at 51.30 hryvnias — by card services of PrivatBank and Sberbank, and in PrivatBank branches the buying rate is 50.95 hryvnias.
