On August 18, 2026, the Ukrainian football market witnessed a major transfer. Daniil Beskorovainyi, the central defender of Zhytomyr's Polissya, has officially changed his club affiliation and will continue his career in Poland. The 27-year-old player has signed a full contract with Gdansk's Lechia, a team that was taken over in the summer by the well-known Ukrainian specialist Vladyslav Lupashko.

Transfer details and contract terms

According to information published on the official website of the Polish club and confirmed by Sport RBC.UA, Beskorovainyi's transfer took place on a permanent basis. The contract with Lechia is for a long term — until June 30, 2029. The financial details of the deal, including the release fee paid to Polissya, are traditionally not disclosed by the parties. For the Ukrainian defender, this will be the sixth country in which he will compete at a professional level.

Career path and previous achievements

A graduate of Kryvbas from Kryvyi Rih, he has rich international experience. During his career, he has played for Lutsk's Volyn, Slovakian DAK 1904, Kazakhstani Astana, and Azerbaijani Sumgayit. The main achievement in the defender's career remains the victory at the U-20 World Youth Championship in 2019 as part of the Ukrainian national team. At Polissya, Beskorovainyi became one of the key players in defense, however, the challenge of a stronger league and working under the guidance of a compatriot became the decisive factors for changing clubs.

Situation at Lechia and plans for the season

For Lechia, this reinforcement is extremely important against the backdrop of a difficult start to the season in the second-strongest division in Poland. Under the leadership of Vladyslav Lupashko, the team has won only one point in four matches and is at the bottom of the standings, in 18th place. The arrival of an experienced central defender is intended to stabilize the defense and help the team get out of the relegation zone. Beskorovainyi can make his debut for the new team as early as the next round. On Friday, August 21, Lechia will host Pogon from the city of Siedlce at home.
