A joint delegation from Ukraine, the United States, and Russia has arrived at the point from which humanitarian aid will be delivered to Oleshky on Friday, October 30. This was announced by David Arakhamia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, while the progress of the mission's preparation was confirmed by US First Lady Melania Trump. According to the deputy, media representatives from the three countries are already working on-site, ensuring the most transparent conduct of the latest stage of the humanitarian operation.
Format of Transparency: Observers from Three Countries
As Arakhamia specified, journalists from Ukraine, the US, and Russia are present at the location, recording every stage of the preparation and cargo delivery. According to the publication, four American journalists from the Newsmax TV channel are directly in occupied Oleshky, working as neutral observers alongside representatives of humanitarian organizations from Ukraine and Russia. Their task is to independently record and document the course of the mission, which, according to the organizers, should increase trust in the process from all interested parties.
Statement by Melania Trump
US First Lady Melania Trump, who reportedly acted as a mediator in coordinating the humanitarian operation, emphasized the role of independent observation. "They will independently record and constantly document this historic humanitarian mission," she stated. Thus, the American side emphasizes that the presence of the press from the three countries is a guarantee of objectivity and openness throughout the operation.
Progress of Preparation: Demining and Deadlines
Preparation for aid delivery is proceeding according to an agreed schedule. The Ukrainian delegation previously traveled to the city, while specialists continued demining the movement routes for the humanitarian convoy. The humanitarian cargo for civilian residents of occupied Oleshky is planned to be delivered to the city on October 30. According to the organizers' estimates, the mission will last about a week, which will allow not only to transfer aid but also to practice interaction mechanisms on the ground.
Silence Regime and Civilian Evacuation
A key condition for the mission was a local ceasefire in the Oleshky area. The agreement on the humanitarian operation was signed on October 30 (note: text says 23 October) by Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, and Yana Lantratova, the Russian Human Rights Commissioner. The silence regime came into force on Tuesday, October 27. According to Lubinets, thanks to it, local residents can safely go out onto the streets for the first time in a long time. The parties also agreed on a mechanism for evacuating civilians, making the operation not only an act of aid delivery but also a practical step towards reducing risks for the civilian population.
