The fuel market in Ukraine is once again reacting to the current situation with rising prices. This time, the price increase has affected diesel fuel at the country's largest gas station networks. As of Tuesday, August 4, car owners are forced to pay more for refueling, while the cost of gasoline and gas remains stable for now.

Sharp spike at OKKO gas stations

The most noticeable price change has been recorded at OKKO network gas stations. The network operators have revised the cost of diesel fuel upwards, increasing prices by 1.40 hryvnias per liter. This became the most significant spike among major market players in the last 24 hours.

The specific changes look as follows:

  • Premium diesel Pulls increased from 95.50 to 96.90 hryvnias.
  • Standard Euro diesel rose in price from 92.50 to 93.90 hryvnias.

This move by the network directly affects the operating expenses of logistics companies and owners of heavy transport, who make up the majority of consumers of this type of fuel.

Price adjustment in the SOCAR network

Operators of the SOCAR network were not left behind either. Here, too, price tags were revised, although on a smaller scale than competitors. The cost of diesel fuel was increased by 1 hryvnia per liter.

New rates for this popular type of fuel:

  • Diesel NANO Extro now costs 98.90 hryvnias (previously — 97.90 UAH).
  • Diesel NANO rose to 95.90 hryvnias (was — 94.90 UAH).

Experts note that after this increase, the cost of premium diesel at certain gas stations has practically reached the psychologically important mark of 99 hryvnias per liter.

Stability amidst growth

Despite the general trend of diesel becoming more expensive, not all networks followed this example. The largest market operators — WOG and "Ukrnafta" — have so far kept the cost of all fuel types unchanged. This creates a certain difference in pricing policy, allowing consumers to choose more advantageous refueling options.

It is important to note that in all four networks under consideration, prices for gasoline and automotive gas (autogas) remained stable. The adjustment affected exclusively the diesel fuel segment, which indicates specific market factors influencing precisely this type of energy carrier.
