According to information published by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretskyi, the changes will take effect from August 17, 2026. The main goal of the route adjustment is to create the most convenient and fast path for Ukrainians using Chisinau Airport as a transit hub. Previously, passengers often faced inconveniences when transferring to ground transport in Chisinau itself, which increased the total travel time and created a risk of missing flights.
The new route, developed through an agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Moldova, provides for the train to travel directly to the airport or to the station closest to it, minimizing ground transfer time.
