The National Bank of Ukraine has published the official exchange rates for Thursday, October 15, 2026. Following a period of intense growth and reaching record highs, key foreign currencies demonstrated a moderate decline in value. Financial market experts are closely monitoring current dynamics, assessing them as a correction after large-scale speculative fluctuations last week.
Official exchange rates from the NBU
On Thursday, October 15, the National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate of the US dollar at 44.98 UAH. Compared to the previous banking day, October 14, the American currency fell in price by 10 kopecks — from 45.08 UAH. The official euro exchange rate also recorded a decrease. While previously the European currency was estimated at 50.43 UAH, for October 15 the regulator set the rate at 50.34 UAH, representing a decrease of 9 kopecks.
Legal status of electronic credit agreements
Along with monetary policy, the National Bank of Ukraine provided official clarifications regarding the legal status of remote financial agreements. The regulator confirmed that a credit agreement concluded online has full legal force provided it is signed using an electronic signature in strict compliance with the current legislation of Ukraine.
Legislative framework and citizens' obligations
As emphasized by the NBU, the digital signature used in processing such agreements has equivalent legal force compared to a traditional handwritten signature. This is regulated by Ukraine's specialized laws «On Electronic Commerce» and «On Electronic Trust Services». Financial experts remind citizens of the need to treat credit obligations responsibly, regardless of the document signing format.
