The Ukrainian foreign exchange market is showing signs of a pullback. As of the morning of July 30, banks lowered the average dollar selling rate by 20 kopecks, effectively canceling the increase recorded the day before. The average selling price of the "greenback" in bank cash desks returned to the 45.15 hryvnia mark. The situation in exchange offices stabilized even faster: the currency lost an average of 5 kopecks, returning to the level of 44.95 hryvnias.

Yesterday, on Wednesday, the market situation was different: a noticeable price increase made buying a dollar for 44 hryvnias impossible in both banks and exchange points. Today, the rate has become more affordable for buyers again.

Situation in Exchange Offices and Banks

According to data from the Minfin portal, as of the morning of July 30, the average dollar buying rate in exchange offices was 44.95 hryvnias (a decrease of 5 kopecks), and the selling rate was 44.85 hryvnias (also minus 5 kopecks). The euro in exchange offices became cheaper by 5 kopecks: it can be bought for 51.40 hryvnias and sold for 51.20 hryvnias.

In the banking sector, the dynamics looked as follows:

  • Average dollar selling rate in banks — 45.15 hryvnias (decrease of 9 kopecks).
  • Average dollar buying rate — 44.68 hryvnias (unchanged).
  • Average euro selling rate — 51.46 hryvnias (decrease of 10 kopecks).
  • Average euro buying rate — 50.84 hryvnias (increase of 7 kopecks).

Rates in Leading Banks

The country's largest financial institutions adjusted their rates differently. PrivatBank lowered the cash dollar selling rate in teller windows to 45.05 hryvnias (minus 10 kopecks), while the rate for card operations dropped to 45.04 hryvnias (minus 20 kopecks). At the same time, the cost of the euro in this bank increased: it is sold in teller windows for 51.80 hryvnias, and via cards — for 51.81 hryvnias.

Oschadbank kept the dollar selling rate unchanged: 45.10 hryvnias in the app and 45.20 hryvnias for cards. The euro in this bank became more expensive by 10 kopecks across both sales channels.

PUMB lowered the cash dollar selling rate to 45.20 hryvnias, leaving the card rate unchanged at 45 hryvnias. The euro in bank branches costs 51.70 hryvnias.

Monobank offers dollars at a rate of 45.03 hryvnias (a decrease of 17 kopecks), and euros — at an unchanged rate of 51.54 hryvnias.
