The currency market in Ukraine on August 5 demonstrated a downward trend. The US dollar became cheaper in most major banks, while the euro continued to correct after the previous rise. Experts and financial portals have recorded changes in quotes both in physical exchange points and in online services of leading financial institutions.

Situation in Exchange Offices

According to the Minfin portal, morning quotes in exchange offices showed a decrease in the dollar rate. The average purchase rate was 44.75 UAH (a decrease of 7 kopecks), and the sale rate was 44.63 UAH (also minus 7 kopecks). The euro in exchange offices is offered today at a price of 51.55 UAH for purchase (a decrease of 8 kopecks) and 51.35 UAH for sale (a decrease of 5 kopecks).

Rates in Major Banks

In the banking sector, the dynamics are also directed downwards. The average dollar sale rate in banks was 44.97 UAH (a decrease of 10 kopecks), and the purchase rate was 44.49 UAH (minus 8 kopecks). The euro in banks can be purchased for 51.84 UAH (a decrease of 16 kopecks), and sold for 51.18 UAH (minus 6 kopecks).

Quotes of Leading Financial Institutions

Leading market players have adjusted their rates. PrivatBank offers dollars in branches at 44.90 UAH (a decrease of 15 kopecks), and for cards the rate is 44.84 UAH (minus 20 kopecks). The euro in branches costs 51.90 UAH (a decrease of 10 kopecks), for cards — 51.81 UAH (minus 17 kopecks).

Oschadbank offers the most attractive conditions through the mobile application: dollars are sold at 44.77 UAH (a decrease of 33 kopecks), and for cards the rate is 45.00 UAH (minus 20 kopecks). The euro in the application can be bought for 51.59 UAH (a decrease of 46 kopecks), for cards — 51.90 UAH (minus 25 kopecks).

In PUMB, the dollar rate in branches remained unchanged at 45.10 UAH, and the commercial rate is 44.90 UAH. The euro in the bank's cash desks is offered at 51.90 UAH. Monobank updated the dollar rate to 44.83 UAH (a decrease of 20 kopecks), and the euro — to 51.80 UAH (minus 21 kopecks).

  • Dollar Sale: The highest purchase rate is offered by Oschadbank through the app and PUMB commercial rate — 44.60 UAH. Next are Oschadbank cards (44.50 UAH), Monobank (44.46 UAH), PrivatBank cards (44.45 UAH) and PrivatBank branches (44.30 UAH).
  • Euro Sale: It is most profitable to sell euros to Oschadbank through the app — 51.35 UAH. In Monobank the purchase rate is 51.23 UAH, in PUMB — 51.20 UAH, in PrivatBank cards — 51.22 UAH, and in branches — 50.90 UAH.
