The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for Friday, October 2, 2026. The US dollar is demonstrating steady growth following a period of relative stability, while the European currency showed a minor decline. Such changes are drawing the attention of businesses and the public, as October is traditionally viewed as a month for revising financial strategies and autumn-winter forecasts.
Official NBU Exchange Rates
According to the regulator's official data, the US dollar exchange rate for October 2 is set at 44.83 UAH. Previously, on October 1, the American currency cost 44.68 UAH, meaning an increase of exactly 15 kopecks. Meanwhile, the official euro exchange rate for October 2 is fixed at 50.69 UAH, compared to 50.71 UAH the day before. Thus, the euro dropped by 2 kopecks over the day, reflecting more complex dynamics in international markets.
Influencing Factors and Expert Forecasts
As Taras Lesovoy, Director of the Financial Markets and Investment Activity Department at Globus Bank, explained in an expert commentary, at the beginning of October the key external factor for the Ukrainian currency market is the ratio of the world's leading currencies—the euro and the dollar. Additional pressure on the market is exerted by foreign policy risks, in particular the escalation of the situation in the Middle East, rising oil prices, and the monetary policy of leading global central banks.Contradictory Data
It is worth noting that reports periodically appear in the media space and analytical reviews regarding potential discrepancies in calculations or technical errors by the NBU when publishing rates, creating additional informational grounds for speculation. Nevertheless, experts emphasize that current changes within a few kopecks remain within the framework of predicted market fluctuations. The dynamics of the euro exchange rate in Ukraine directly depend on two components: the hryvnia value of the dollar and the euro-to-dollar cross-rate on global markets.
