On the night of October 22, 2026, Russian drones attacked the building of the private TV and radio company Vizit in Kremenchuk, Poltava Oblast. As a result of the impact, a fire broke out at the facility, and the adjacent area in a residential neighborhood was temporarily closed to traffic.
Details of the Night Incident and Infrastructure Consequences
According to Kremenchuk Mayor Vitaliy Maletsky, the TV and radio company's building is located directly among the city's residential developments. Emergency services promptly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire and clear the rubble. According to preliminary official data from local authorities, there were no human casualties or injuries resulting from the nighttime strike.
At the same time, the management of VIZIT-NET specified that seven employees were inside the building at the time of the attack. Due to the staff taking timely cover in safe locations, none of the workers were injured. Severe damage to the building itself, telecommunications equipment, and related infrastructure led to a complete halt in the operation of the main complex.
Traffic Restrictions and Changes in Media Operations
Local media reported that due to the consequences of the strike, law enforcement and municipal services temporarily blocked part of Ivan Mazepa Street, where the broadcasting company is located. Vehicle traffic was restricted on the section between the nearest two intersections to ensure the safety of citizens and the work of operational services.
The company noted that home internet and television services continue to be provided to subscribers from backup sites, but citizens were warned about possible temporary communication disruptions. In addition, due to technical difficulties, the Vizit TV channel temporarily suspended the preparation and release of its news programs until the situation stabilizes.
Large-Scale Night Shelling and Context of Events
The nighttime attack on Kremenchuk occurred against the backdrop of a series of large-scale strikes on other regions of the country. In particular, on the same night, Russian forces launched drone and ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv, where, according to official data, at least one person was killed and 22 other civilians sustained injuries of varying severity.
The events in Kremenchuk highlight the vulnerability of critical and information infrastructure facilities located within city limits. Restoring the full operation of the TV and radio company will take time and significant technical resources, while emergency services continue to assess the damage inflicted on the residential sector and urban communications.
