On November 7, Russian armed forces launched drone strikes against Kremenchuk in Poltava Oblast. According to an official statement by Vitaliy Dyakovnych, head of the Poltava Oblast Military Administration, enemy drones hit the territory of private enterprises in the city. He published the relevant information on his Telegram channel, as cited by RBC-Ukraine. The incident was part of a broader attack carried out by the enemy across Ukraine that day.
Confirmed Strikes on Enterprises
Around 14:06, Dyakovnych confirmed that Russian drones had hit the territory of private enterprises in Kremenchuk. At the time of the first report, according to him, four casualties were known, while information on the nature of the damage and the circumstances of the strikes was being clarified. The official representative of the oblast military administration emphasized that data on the consequences was still being collected at that moment.
Victims and Assistance Provided
About half an hour later, the head of the RMA clarified the breakdown of the victims: they included three men and one woman. According to him, all four received medical assistance at the scene. Thus, the initial figure of four injured remained, but was detailed regarding the patients who received first aid.
Strikes on Communities of Kremenchuk District
In addition to the city itself, drones also hit surrounding areas. Around 12:40 in the Hradizk community of Kremenchuk district, a Russian drone hit the territory of a private enterprise; there were no casualties. Another UAV crashed in an open area, and the blast wave damaged the roof and window glazing of a private house — no reports of injuries were received by emergency services. Around 15:00 in the Semenivka community of the district, an enemy drone also crashed in an open area, causing dry vegetation to catch fire. The blast wave and debris damaged six private households — specifically roofs, windows, and fences. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties there.
Context of the November 7 Attack
The strikes on Kremenchuk and Kremenchuk district fit into the overall picture of Russia's attack on Ukraine on November 7, new details of which were previously shared by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. As reported, during the night the enemy also launched strikes on substations connecting two nuclear power plants to Kyiv, indicating an attempt to damage energy infrastructure. The combination of these events indicates that on November 7, strikes on infrastructure facilities and populated areas continued in various regions of the country.
