During January–September 2026, the enterprises of the DTEK Energy company paid nearly 17.5 billion Ukrainian hryvnias in taxes and levies to budgets at all levels. The company announced these figures against the backdrop of ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which do not prevent DTEK Energy from fulfilling its financial obligations to the state and local communities.
Tax Obligations Amidst War
According to DTEK Energy, the taxes paid by the company help strengthen the financial viability of the state and local communities, while also supporting the resilience of the Ukrainian economy during a full-scale war. CEO Oleksandr Fomenko emphasized that even under constant attacks, DTEK Energy enterprises continue to fulfill their obligations to the state. "The taxes paid by our enterprises serve the needs of the country and the communities where our employees live. At the same time, we continue to restore power plants so that Ukrainians have light and heat," Fomenko stated.
Recovery and Preservation of Jobs
In addition to paying taxes, the company continues to ensure the uninterrupted operation of its enterprises and preserve jobs. DTEK Energy invests its own funds in the restoration of thermal power plants damaged as a result of Russian shelling. Furthermore, the company directs funds to support the operation of mines and machine-building enterprises, which are critically important for the stable functioning of Ukraine's energy sector as a whole.
Cumulative Investments Since the Invasion Began
As the company recalled, since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Rinat Akhmetov's DTEK holding has invested 2.4 billion euros into the country's economy. Previously, the DTEK energy company was named the leader in the volume of investments in the Ukrainian economy during the period of the full-scale war, which underlines its key role in maintaining the state's energy security.
Context: Energy Under Fire
The UAH 17.5 billion in taxes mentioned is generated under conditions where Ukraine's energy infrastructure is regularly subjected to strikes. Nevertheless, DTEK Energy demonstrates the ability to combine the restoration of damaged facilities with the fulfillment of budgetary obligations and the maintenance of production capacities, which, according to the company's own assessments, is an important factor in the resilience of the national economy in 2026.
