Acting head coach of Dynamo Kyiv, Maciej Kedzerek, has received two new assistants to work with the first team. Polish specialists Daniel Wojtas and Grzegorz Wojtkowiak have officially joined the coaching staff of the Kyiv capital club. This personnel decision was made by club management less than a week after Igor Kostyuk was dismissed from his position as head coach, following which the interim mentor formed an updated team of assistants.
The Professional Career of Daniel Wojtas
Daniel Wojtas, born July 15, 1982, holds a prestigious UEFA Pro coaching license. He began his professional coaching career in 2009 at the Polish club Orzel Babienica Psary, after which he followed an extensive path in domestic football. In 2024, the specialist served as the chief analyst for the Polish national team, and later worked on the coaching staffs of Legia Warsaw and Radomiak.
Over the years of his career, Wojtas has managed to work within the structures of numerous clubs, including Wigry, Stal Mielec, Korona, Polonia Bytom, Odra, Stomil, and Zaglebie. In addition to serving as an assistant, he also headed Skra Czestochowa as a head coach, giving him valuable experience managing a team at the senior level.
Grzegorz Wojtkowiak as a Player and Coach
The second assistant to Maciej Kedzerek is Grzegorz Wojtkowiak, born January 26, 1984. In the past, he successfully played for the Polish national team as a footballer and won the national championship as part of Lech Poznan. His rich playing experience at the highest level should help in working with the defensive line and the psychological preparation of the Kyiv team's players.
Upon finishing his playing career in the summer of 2021, Wojtkowiak immediately transitioned to coaching within Lech's system. Initially, he worked as an assistant coach for the U19 team and then headed the youth squad. From January to May 2024, the Polish specialist assisted the head coach of Lech's first team, and until April 2026, he successfully managed the club's reserve team.
Significance of Personnel Changes for the Kyiv Club
The arrival of qualified foreign specialists aims to stabilize Dynamo Kyiv's game after a series of coaching changes and disappointing results in the current season. Management expects that Wojtas's rich experience in analytics and tactical preparation, as well as Wojtkowiak's authority, will allow the team to reach a new level. The new coaching staff will have to solve serious tasks to improve results in the national championship and restore stability to the team's playing style.
