The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Ukrainian Association of Football has issued a series of stringent decisions following recent matches in the national championship and national Cup. Top-tier clubs and lower-division teams faced sanctions for serious regulatory violations committed by teams and their official fan groups.
Financial Penalties for Ukrainian Football Leaders
Kyiv's Dynamo took the heaviest financial blow, ordered to pay a substantial fine of 160,000 hryvnias due to fans' illegal use of pyrotechnics during a crucial match against Zorya Luhansk. Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk received a more modest fine of 20,000 hryvnias for similar fan infractions during a Cup game against SC Olhivtsi.
Disciplinary Measures Against Other UPL Clubs
Beyond the league leaders, other teams also faced strict verdicts. Karpaty Lviv were fined 50,000 hryvnias for repeated offensive chanting by fans towards the referee in a match against Veres Rivne. Chornomorets Odesa must pay 20,000 hryvnias for disregarding safety requirements during an air raid alert. Several other clubs were penalized for exceeding spectator limits and other administrative breaches.
Record Player Disqualification for Dangerous Foul
In addition to monetary fines, the UAF CDC delivered a severe verdict against SC Poltava defender Oleh Veremienko, banning him from all competitions for six months. The player executed a dangerous two-footed tackle from behind on Inhulets midfielder Nazar Prykhodko. The injured player left the field on a stretcher, requiring surgery and a 6-9 month recovery period.
