Well-known Ukrainian actor Serhiy Strelnykov, whose name is recognized through numerous cinematic projects, has officially announced the beginning of his military service. The artist has joined the ranks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, taking an oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people. This step has become a landmark event not only for his fans, but also for the entire domestic cultural community, which continues to stand up for the state against ongoing aggression.
A new stage: service in the unmanned systems unit
According to official statements by the artist, he is now a serviceman of the FERRO-6 unmanned systems battalion within the 9th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade. Serhiy Strelnykov emphasized that he intends to master modern military specialties in order to effectively apply the acquired skills in practice. Modern warfare requires technological solutions, and drone operators play a key role on the frontline.
Creative path and cinematic background
Before mobilization, Serhiy Strelnykov had more than 50 prominent roles in films and TV series under his belt. He gained widespread recognition for his leading role in the historical adventure film "Dovbush", as well as his striking portrayal of Sova in Lyubomyr Levytsky's military action movie "KILLHOUSE", which was released in theaters on April 23, 2026. During the promotional campaign for this film, the actor repeatedly admitted how important it was for him to work closely on set with real military personnel.
Mission to highlight the stories of defenders
In addition to direct participation in combat units and mastering drone operations, Serhiy has set another important task for himself. He plans to use his media presence to tell the general public about the daily lives of Ukrainian soldiers and officers. According to the actor, not all heroes and their hard daily work make it into regular news reports, and this information gap needs to be filled with truthful frontline stories.
