Finland has once again prepared a large-scale package of defense aid for Ukraine, the details of which were discussed by the presidents of the two countries, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Alexander Stubb. According to RBC-Ukraine, the head of the Ukrainian state announced this in his Telegram channel, confirming that the two sides had "just" worked through the content of the new financial and military support. Zelenskyy emphasized that the package prepared by Helsinki is "very strong" and thanked the Finnish side, and President Stubb personally, for their "consistently fair position" toward Ukraine.

Composition and Cost of the Package

According to data cited by Finnish and Ukrainian media, this is the 34th military aid package in a row, with a total value estimated at 290 million euros. Thus, the "strong" support declared by Zelenskyy has a concrete financial expression and continues the series of regular deliveries that Helsinki has been sending to Kyiv throughout the period of the full-scale war. In doing so, Finland confirms its course of sustained, rather than one-off, participation in ensuring Ukraine's defense capabilities.

Diplomatic Agenda and Joint Production

In addition to the package itself, the leaders of the two countries, according to Zelenskyy, discussed the diplomatic situation and prospects in several tracks "in great detail": cooperation with the American team, European opportunities, and bilateral relations. A separate direction of cooperation became the launch of joint production of military equipment and weapons: Ukraine and Finland intend to produce drones, build maritime unmanned systems, and create a facility for manufacturing ground robots. This shifts the relationship from a format of mere supplies to one of industrial partnership.

Context: Air Defense and Assessment of Ukraine's Position

The new package fits into a broader dynamic of cooperation. At the end of August, Finland had already promised to significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense, and Stubb then emphasized that he had discussed this topic with Zelenskyy. According to the Finnish president, Ukraine's position is the strongest since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and the country itself, in his assessment, is fully ready for peace. The totality of these statements indicates that Helsinki views support for Kyiv as a long-term strategic priority.
