Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region, has faced an unprecedented threat. For the first time since the full-scale invasion, the city has been hit by an air-dropped guided bomb (KAB). The attack, carried out by Russian armed forces, resulted in casualties and extensive destruction in the residential sector.
Casualties and Injured
According to official data, two people were killed as a result of the attack. The number of injured reached 13 civilians. The situation with the injured remains critical: 11 people have been hospitalized in moderate condition. Among them is a 13-year-old girl. Two injured persons will receive outpatient treatment. A one-year-old child is also listed among those requiring examination.
Scale of Destruction
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) recorded serious damage to a multi-story residential building. The strike caused fires in several apartments and on the adjacent territory. The fire engulfed the building, requiring emergency action by firefighters. In addition, cars parked near the house were damaged as a result of the attack.
City's "New Reality"
Nikolai Lukashuk, Chairman of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council, confirmed that this is the first case of the use of modernized KABs against Pavlohrad. According to him, the city's residents had previously faced rocket shelling and attacks by "Shahed" kamikaze drones, but guided bombs of this type had not been used here.
"Pavlohrad lived under rockets and 'Shaheds', but did not know KABs. Now the enemy is modernizing these bombs and reaching deeper with them. Unfortunately, for Pavlohrad, this is a new reality," Lukashuk noted.
Call for Vigilance
Regional authorities are urging residents not to ignore air raid alarms and to pay close attention to messages from the Air Force of Ukraine, as well as monitoring public channels. The situation requires increased caution and readiness for evacuation if necessary.
Recall that similar strikes on other cities in Ukraine have already led to tragic consequences. Thus, on July 19 in Zaporizhzhia, two people were killed and another ten were injured as a result of KAB attacks. Russian aerial bombs are capable of destroying entire floors of multi-story buildings, damaging adjacent buildings, and causing damage to private property.
