The Ukrainian specialized armored vehicle Novator has demonstrated exceptional reliability and survivability in the combat conditions of the Chernihiv region. Despite a direct hit from an enemy FPV drone and the resulting fire, the vehicle continued moving, covering about 20 kilometers to a safe deployment site.
A Test of Fire and Drones
The incident became the culmination of four months of intensive operation of the armored vehicle within a National Police rifle battalion. During this period, the vehicle completed approximately 100 combat missions, performing complex logistical tasks on the eastern fronts, including the delivery of fuel and batteries. Servicemen note the high practicality and convenience of the equipment.
Independent Upgrades and Structural Resilience
A notable fact is that the vehicle's crew independently improved the standard fire extinguishing system in the body, which played a critical role at a crucial moment. Over four months of operation, this specific Novator withstood strikes from 10 FPV drones. During the final fatal hit, the vehicle caught fire but managed to accomplish its main task—saving the lives of the personnel.
Characteristics and Development of the Novator Lineup
The Novator specialized armored vehicle was developed by the domestic company Ukrainian Armor, a member of NAUDI. The vehicle features ballistic protection against 7.62 mm bullets, shrapnel, and a V-shaped anti-mine floor. Previously, the manufacturer also introduced the Novator 2 modification and the Novator 2S medical evacuation variant.
